Description
Cheeseburger Skulls are the ultimate spooky Halloween dinner idea, combining juicy beef patties with gooey cheese tucked inside soft skull-shaped buns. Fun, festive, and just creepy enough to delight guests, these burgers double as both a delicious meal and a playful Halloween food craft.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 pound ground beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices cheese (cut into skull shapes if desired)
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard, pickles
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, salt, butter, egg, and warm water to form a dough. Knead until smooth and elastic, then let rise until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough and press into skull-shaped molds. Let rise again, then bake at 375°F until golden brown. Brush with butter.
- While buns bake, season ground beef with salt and pepper. Shape into patties sized to fit inside buns. Cook in a skillet until browned and juicy. Top with cheese to melt.
- Slice buns horizontally and fill with burger patties, cheese, and toppings of choice.
- For spooky presentation, drizzle ketchup to resemble dripping blood or use olives for eyeballs.
Notes
Buns can be baked a day ahead and stored in an airtight container. Burgers can be made with chicken, turkey, or plant-based patties for variety.
