- 500 g (4 cups) all-purpose flour
- 240 ml (1 cup) warm milk
- 7 g (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- 25 g (2 tbsp) sugar
- 8 g (1 ½ tsp) salt
- 60 g (4 tbsp) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 60 g (4 tbsp) melted butter
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 30 g (¼ cup) grated parmesan cheese
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Activate yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar until frothy.
- Mix in flour, salt, softened butter, and egg. Knead until dough is soft and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Punch down dough, divide into portions, roll into balls, and arrange in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes until puffed.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush warm rolls with melted butter, garlic, parsley, and parmesan mixture.
Notes
For extra flavor, roast the garlic before mixing into the butter. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2 days at room temperature, 5 days refrigerated, or up to 3 months frozen.
