Description
There is nothing quite like the crisp, tangy burst of a Lime Squash Drink on a warm afternoon. This sweet and citrusy beverage is a refreshing alternative to sugary sodas, offering both hydration and flavor without overpowering your taste buds. With only a handful of ingredients, it is one of those drinks you can whip up in minutes, making it perfect for busy parents, students, and anyone who craves a quick pick-me-up.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (from 3–4 limes)
- Honey or sugar syrup, to taste
- Still or carbonated water, for dilution
- Ice cubes
- Optional: lime slices, mint leaves, or a pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Roll limes on a countertop to release more juice.
- Microwave for 10 seconds if desired to soften (optional).
- Squeeze fresh lime juice into a jug.
- Stir in honey or sugar syrup until dissolved.
- Add cold still or sparkling water to preferred strength.
- Fill a glass with ice cubes.
- Pour over lime mixture and garnish as desired.
Notes
You can make a concentrate in advance by mixing lime juice and sweetener, refrigerating for up to a week, and adding water and ice when ready to serve. Works well with lemon instead of lime, and can be made low-sugar using honey or sugar substitutes.
