Description

If you have been searching for the perfect Lobster Tail Recipe, you are absolutely in the right place. Because lobster often feels intimidating, many home cooks avoid making it at home. However, once you understand the technique, preparing this Lobster Tail Recipe becomes simple, rewarding, and surprisingly quick. This garlic lemon butter style enhances the lobster’s natural sweetness while keeping the flavor bright, balanced, and restaurant worthy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 lobster tails, 5 to 6 ounces each
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional paprika for color

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to broil and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Using kitchen scissors, cut down the center of each lobster shell lengthwise, stopping before the tail fin.
  3. Gently separate the shell from the meat, lift the meat, and rest it on top of the shell to butterfly.
  4. Place the butterflied lobster tails on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  5. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
  6. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute without browning.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  8. Brush the lobster meat generously with the lemon garlic butter mixture.
  9. Broil the lobster tails about 6 inches from the heat source for 1 minute per ounce.
  10. Cook until the meat turns opaque and reaches an internal temperature of 140°F.
  11. Remove from oven and spoon extra butter over the top before serving.

Notes

Always thaw frozen lobster tails overnight in the refrigerator. Avoid overcooking to prevent toughness. Use a meat thermometer for best results and adjust broiling time based on tail size.
