Description

These viral Onion Ring Chips are crispy, cheesy, and incredibly easy to make. Thinly sliced onions are baked over a layer of parmesan cheese until golden and crunchy, creating a low carb snack that is perfect for parties, game days, or anytime cravings strike.


Ingredients

  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced into rings
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Cooking spray or 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded Parmesan cheese in an even layer across the parchment paper.
  4. Arrange the thin onion rings on top of the cheese without overlapping.
  5. Lightly spray with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil.
  6. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow the chips to cool completely.
  9. Carefully lift from the parchment paper and break into pieces.
  10. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra crispiness, slice the onions very thin using a mandolin. Allow the chips to cool fully before removing them from the baking sheet. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature and reheat in the oven to restore crunch.
