Description

Halloween is the perfect time to get creative in the kitchen, and these Witch Hat Brownies are a fun, spooky treat that turns simple brownies into festive witch-themed desserts. With a few clever decorations, you can transform ordinary brownies into magical Halloween party snacks that both kids and adults will love.


Ingredients

  • 1 box Betty Crocker Fudge Brownie Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil, and eggs (as called for on the brownie mix box)
  • 1 pouch Betty Crocker Green Cookie Icing
  • 1 pouch Betty Crocker Decorating Cookie Icing (black)
  • 48 candy eyeballs (Betty Crocker Dessert Decorations)
  • 8 black licorice twists (each cut in thirds)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 13×9-inch pan with foil, grease with shortening or spray.
  2. Prepare and bake the brownies as directed on the package. Let them cool completely.
  3. Remove from the pan, peel off foil, and cut brownies into 24 triangles.
  4. Spread green icing on the triangles to form the witch’s face, then pipe black icing on top to create the pointed hat.
  5. Place a strip of black licorice at the base of the hat to form the brim.
  6. Press on candy eyeballs to complete the witch’s face.

Notes

Store decorated brownies in a single layer at room temperature. Use parchment paper if stacking to prevent smudging. For variety, try using sugar cones for 3D hats or experiment with other icing colors.
